What are periods???I hope you know, coz if u dont, this article is not about intricacies of periods and its side effects at all. Periods are usually associated with cramps, hot flashes, mood swings,etc. But did you know-supercharged sex drive is one of major advantages of your periods!! And you can maximize your pleasure if you know what is happening to your body from phase to phase.
Days 1-5 : Your period kicks off on the day your flow starts. Levels of reproductive hormones start to rise which helps pull you out of your PMS blues. While you might experience pelvic pain, there is a soothing effect too - oxytocin, the chemical that causes cramps also helps make you feel more in love with your boyfriend. As you can already guess, period week is the prime time for having sex.
Days 6-13: Your periods are over by now, and your are now in pre-ovulation phase. Your reproductive hormones are on the way up which makes you feel extroverted, optimistic and confident. Your libido also increases before ovulation. Hence, sex at this time of the month can be incredible.
Days 14-17: You are now in the mid of your cycle and must have entered ovulation phase by now. This is the time of the month when most of the women hit the perfect baby making time. Your mind instinctively urges you to mate and subconsciously you dress sexier during this time, so as to attract men.
Days 18-23: By now your ovulation phase will come to an end. The reproductive hormones will now we replaced by progesterone. This has a dampening effect. Many women report feelings of sluggishness and sleepiness. However the plus side is that progesterone helps your body burn more fat during exercise.So this is the best time of the month to work out.
Days 24-28: Now you are under the dreaded PMS attack. The 'joys' of PMS don't need a mention here. Remember that this is the time to pamper yourself. Have a glass of wine, take a bubble bath, or ask your boyfriend to give you a back massage. In short indulge in all the things you enjoy doing and when the cycle starts again, to would be back to your confident self.
